Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery in Toorak this morning.

It is believed three men attended a jewellery store on Toorak Road about 10.40am wearing face coverings.

The trio entered the store armed with a machete, a firearm and what is believed to be a hammer.

They proceeded to smash things in the store before leaving on foot and getting into a silver Hyundai on Wallace Avenue.

A quantity of jewellery was also stolen from the store.

No one was injured in the incident.

Investigators have released images and CCTV of three men they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
