Police would like to thank members of the public who identified a man wanted in connection with a robbery at a petrol station in Mount Gambier yesterday.
At 1.15am on Tuesday 8 November police were called to the business on Penola Road. Upon speaking with staff, it was discovered that two men had entered the store and allegedly threatened the attendant with a hammer.
Police will allege the men then stole cash and cigarettes.
Fortunately, the staff member was not physically injured during the robbery.
A 25-year-old man from Mount Gambier was arrested a short time later by police and charged with aggravated robbery, but the second man was unknown.
Thanks to vigilant members of the public who identified the second suspect after CCTV images were released, a 28-year-old Mount Gambier man was arrested at 2.30pm, Tuesday 8 November and charged with aggravated robbery.
The man was refused police bail and will attend the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court today.
