Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after an armed robbery of a discount store in Bonnyrigg yesterday.
About 4.30pm (Saturday 12 November 2016), a man entered a discount store at a shopping centre on Bonnyrigg Avenue armed with a knife.
Police have been told the armed man approached a 16-year-old girl and a 21-year-old man working in the store, threatening the pair and demanding money.
He fled the scene a short time later, taking cash.
The employees were uninjured and contacted officers from Fairfield Local Area Command, who attended and established a crime scene.
As inquiries into the incident continue, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist them.
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 25 and 30-years-old, of slim build, and has an “Aussie” tattoo on his right forearm.
The man was seen wearing a high-visibility work shirt and blue shorts.
