A man has been charged following an alleged armed robbery at a business in Chermside last night.

It is alleged that three men, one armed with a knife, have entered a liquor retail outlet on Gympie Road around 8pm and demanded money from the shop assistant.

The 23-year-old female attendant has allegedly handed over a sum of cash and the men have fled the scene, also taking a quantity of alcohol.

The men have then allegedly travelled by taxi to a Stafford Heights address where police have arrested one man.

Police commenced a search of the area and another male was detained but later released.

A 21-year-old Zillmere man has been charged with armed robbery and will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 14.

No one was injured during the incident.
