Police are searching for a stolen car after an alleged armed robbery at a convenience store in Templestowe this morning.

Four masked men used crowbars and hammers to force their way into the store on Anderson Street just after 2am.

Patrolling police in the area observed the robbery and swiftly moved in, arresting a 17-year-old Epping boy inside the store.

Three other men escaped in a stolen maroon 1996 Nissan Maxima sedan, with QLD registration 878WRW, which was seen driving erratically in the Reservoir area earlier yesterday evening.

Members later arrested a second man about 2.30am on Mahoney’s Road, Reservoir.

The 21-year-old Epping man, along with the 17-year-old, continue to assist police with their enquiries and no charges have been laid.

Police continue to search for the stolen Nissan and two offenders who are yet to be arrested and urge anyone with information on their whereabouts to come forward.

Police have released images of a vehicle similar to the stolen Nissan.
