Police have charged a man following the investigation of an attempted armed robbery of a convenience store in Logan Village on Saturday.

It will be alleged just after 5pm a man entered the business on Wharf Street and produced a knife in a threatening manner towards a staff member.

The male staff member refused to hand over money and the man then left the store.

Police have charged a 21-year-old Forest Lake man with one count each of attempted armed robbery and wilful damage of a vehicle.  He is expected to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on January 10.
