Police are appealing for information after an armed robbery in Old Bar, around 16kms east of Taree, last month.

About 10pm on Sunday 27 November 2016, four males allegedly armed with knives entered a club on Belford Street.

The men threatened bar staff and patrons, before fleeing with a sum of cash.

No one was injured during the incident.

Officers from Manning/Great Lakes Local Area Command commenced investigations.

Following investigations, about 10am yesterday (Tuesday 13 December 2016), police attended an address in Taree and arrested a 17-year-old boy.

He was taken to Taree Police Station and charged with robbery whilst armed with an offensive weapon (x2) and possess housebreaking implements. He was refused bail to appear in a children’s court today.

Inquiries are continuing to identify three men who may be able to assist further investigations.

They have been described to police as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance and aged in their 20s.
