Police are at the scene of an attempted robbery at West Lakes Shore, where a supermarket employee was threatened with a knife.
At about 5.15am, police were called to the Foodland supermarket on Bartley Terrace after reports that a staff member was threatened by a man with a knife at the rear of the store.
The suspect tied the man’s hands together with cable ties, and demanded to be taken to the safe inside the store’s office.
When the victim advised he did not have access to the safe, the suspect then tied the man’s feet together with cable ties and ran off.
The victim was not injured, and nothing was stolen.
The suspect was wearing a large dark-coloured hooded jacket and gloves.
