Police investigating an attempted armed robbery at Mitchelton yesterday afternoon have released images of a man who may be able to assist them with their investigations.

At about 1.10pm a man armed with a pistol entered a grocery store on Suez Street and demanded money from the female shop owner.

The 60-year-old woman yelled out to a male employee to call police before concealing herself behind a wall.

The man fled empty handed and was last seen running along Parkview Street.

The woman and the male employee were not physically injured.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance and was dressed in black with a black cap and white shoes.

Investigations are continuing.
