Police are investigating after an armed robbery in Maryville overnight.

Police have been told, about 10.30pm (Monday 2 January 2017), three juveniles entered a service station on Hannell Street, Maryville, and approached the counter. One of the juveniles threatened an employee with a knife and demanded money.

While this occurred, two other juveniles stole numerous items from the store.

They then left the store with cash and merchandise and were last seen headed on foot in a southerly direction.

Officers from Newcastle City Local Area Command attended the location and established a crime scene.

Police would like to speak to three juveniles who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The three are all described as being in their mid to late teens. One was last seen wearing a darker coloured hooded jumper and the other two were last seen wearing lighter coloured hooded jumpers.
