Police are investigating after an armed robbery at a bottle shop in East Keilor last month.

Investigators have been told a man entered the store on Centreway just after 7pm on 15 December armed with a machete.

He then demanded cash and cigarettes from the male attendant, however no money was handed over.

The offender, believed to be in his 20s, fled the scene with one stolen packet of cigarettes and was last seen running south on Wingara Road.

No one was injured during the incident.

Detectives from Fawkner Embona are investigating and have released images and CCTV of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man, who was wearing a black balaclava at the time of the incident, is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance with a thin build and short brown hair.

He was wearing dark pants, dark shoes and a distinctive fluorescent orange top during the armed robbery.
