Two men have been charged after an alleged assault and glassing at Darlinghurst early this morning.

About 1am (Friday 13 January 2017), emergency services were called to a bar on Oxford Street, following reports three men were involved in an altercation.

On arrival, a 33-year-old man was found with a deep cut to his head and bruising.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Two men – aged 30 and 33 – were arrested at the scene by officers from Surry Hills Local Area Command and taken to Surry Hills Police Station.

The older man was charged with affray and wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The younger man was charged with affray and common assault.

Both men were refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today (Friday 13 January 2017).
