Detectives from the Logan District Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a 24-year-old Morayfield man with the alleged armed robbery of a business in Beenleigh on January 8.

It will be alleged the man entered the shop around 4.30pm armed with a conducted energy weapon, arched it and demanded the female shop assistant fill a bag with the contents of the cash register.

He then fled the store in a stolen vehicle.

The man has been charged with armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle and is expected to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court tomorrow.
