Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred last night in Rangeville.

Just after 7pm, a man entered a bottle shop on High Street and produced what appeared to be a firearm.

He made demands for cash, and when the male attendant complied, he fled the scene with a sum of cash and was last seen heading towards Miebusch Street.

No one was injured as a result of the robbery.

Police are seeking a man described as Caucasian in appearance, in his mid-20s, around 188cms tall with a proportionate build.

He was last seen wearing a black balaclava, white hooded jumper, dark long pants and a black back pack.

Police are exploring the option that the offender may have had a vehicle parked in a nearby street.
