Southern Metro Crime Team detectives are investigating following an armed robbery in Clayton South this morning.

Investigators have been told two unknown offenders entered a service station on Clayton Road about 6.15am.

The offenders had their faces covered, one with a bandana and the other a balaclava, and one of them was carrying a chainsaw.

Demands were made to the staff member inside the store for cash and cigarettes.

The offenders made off with an amount of cash and cigarettes.

One of the offenders was noticed to have a distinctive walk.

They then drove off a in a dark-coloured Toyota RAV4 which is believed to have been stolen from an address in Narre Warren about 4.30am this morning.

No-one was injured during the robbery.

Detectives have released images of two people they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries and a car that was seen nearby around the time of the incident.
