Yarra Ranges Criminal Investigation Unit are searching for a man who attempted to rob two service stations in Melbourne’s outer east wearing a rubber unicorn head on Thursday morning.

The man, accompanied by another male wearing a t-shirt wrapped ‘ninja style’ around his face, used baseball bats at a service station on the corner of Canterbury and Liverpool roads in Kilysth at 2am.

The pair were unsuccessful in doing anything but chipping the windows and took off in an unknown vehicle.

The duo then arrived at a service station in Upwey at 2.45am and attempted to rob it in the same way.

Again they were unsuccessful and fled the scene.
