Northern Territory Police have charged two males following an aggravated robbery in Katherine

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Malogorski said it is alleged three males entered a Katherine Terrace service station early yesterday morning.

“One offender has struck a staff member to the head with a wooden stick causing a large laceration. The three offenders have then fled the scene with a small quantity of cash and food items.

“Police attended and a crime scene was established.

“Later that day, following information from a member of the public, two alleged offenders aged 22 and 16 were arrested.”

They were charged with aggravated robbery – armed with a weapon causing harm.

The 22-year-old will appear in Katherine Local Court today. The youth was bailed to appear in Katherine Youth Court today.

Enquiries are ongoing to identify the third offender. He is described as being of indigenous appearance. At the time of the offence he was wearing a grey jumper with black sleeves and a black hood that was pulled over his face and navy knee-length shorts.
