Police have arrested a man today following a string of armed robberies at service stations in Melbourne’s southern suburbs.

It is alleged a man armed with a knife demanded cash from shop attendants at a number of service stations, including incidents on:

– Mornington-Tyabb Road, near Racecourse Road, Mornington about 10.15pm on 15 February

– McMahons Road, Frankston about 2.05am on 16 February and again about 8.15pm on 17 February

– High Street, Berwick about 10.30pm on 17 February

– Point Nepean Road, Dromana just after midnight on 18 February

– South Road, Moorabbin about 5.35am on 18 February

– Cranbourne-Frankston Road, Langwarrin about 8.45am on February 18

– Frankston-Dandenong Road, Carrum Downs about 9.15am on February 18

A 43-year-old man was arrested about 9.45am this morning in Mornington.

The man, who is from Mornington, is in currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
