Police are investigating after a taxi driver was robbed at knifepoint this morning in Banyo this morning.
Around 6.50am, a male taxi driver picked up a passenger on the corner of Edward and Albert streets in the city.
He asked to be dropped off in Earnshaw Road at Banyo.
When they arrived at the destination, the passenger pulled out a knife and demanded cash and the driver’s wallet.
The driver complied and the passenger got out of the taxi and ran off east along Earnshaw Road.
The driver was not physically injured as a result of the incident.
