A pizza delivery driver has been assaulted and robbed at Warrawong overnight.

The 22-year-old man told police he’d just delivered a pizza to a unit in Northcliffe Drive about 11pm (Thursday 9 March 2017), when he was approached by four youths.

He was threatened by one of the youths who appeared to be armed with a firearm.

The man was then punched in the face and his mobile phone and car keys stolen before the youths ran away.

The driver sought help from residents nearby and police were alerted.

Police from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command have initiated inquiries and are appealing for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The man was taken to Wollongong Hospital where he is being assessed..
