Logan Detectives have arrested a man following the alleged armed robbery of a petrol station in Underwood where a vehicle was driven into the business on Saturday morning.

It will be alleged around 4.30am the man entered the Logan Road business with another man and threatened the male console operator whilst brandishing a hammer. A third man waited inside the vehicle.

The men fled with a sum of cash and some cigarettes. No one was physically injured during the incident.

Police believe that the three men were involved in a similar type offence at a petrol station on Compton Road, Kuraby that same morning.

Investigations led police to an address in Waterford West where they arrested a 31-year-old Logan Central man in relation to both incidents.

The 31-year-old man was charged with two counts of wilful damage and one count each of armed robbery in company and enter premises with intent. He is due to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.

Investigators are continuing.
