A man has been arrested after a taxi driver was robbed at Salisbury this morning.

Police were called to Jago Street, Salisbury just before 7am on Sunday 16 April by a report that a taxi driver had been threatened with a syringe and had money stolen.

The suspect ran off.  Fortunately, the taxi driver was not physically injured during the robbery.

Police searched the area and called in one of our newest graduates, Police Dog Roy, to assist.  But it was a patrol who located a suspect nearby who allegedly matched the description provided by the victim.

The 25-year-old Salisbury East man was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.  He has been refused police bail and is expected to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
