Police have charge a boy after the alleged armed robbery of an Upper Coomera service station tonight.

It will be alleged about 9.10pm a boy attended the Old Coach Road business and threatened staff with a knife before demanding money.

The boy left the store with a sum of money. He was located shortly after by police at a nearby residence and all the money was recovered.

A 12-year-old Upper Coomera boy has been charged with one count of armed robbery.

The female staff member was not physically injured during the incident.
