Police are investigated an armed robbery at a Bankstown pharmacy which left a staff member with facial injuries.

About 5.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 28 June 2017), a man described as having a dark complexion, wearing a dark-coloured hooded jumper and armed with a screw driver threatened a female staff member at the West Terrace pharmacy.

A male staff member then confronted the man and suffered cuts to his face in a struggle before the man fled on foot.

No items were stolen and the injured man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
