Police are appealing for assistance following an armed robbery on the state’s North Coast yesterday.

A man armed with a knife entered a service station on Ocean Parade, Coffs Harbour, about 4pm on Sunday 2 July 2017, and threatened a staff member.

The staff member handed over cash and cigarettes to the man, before he fled the scene toward nearby bushland. The employee was not injured during the incident.

Officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command attended and have commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, police would like to speak to a man who might be able to assist with the investigation. He is described to police as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170cm tall with dark hair. He was last seen wearing a white baseball cap, black hooded jumper and black pants.

Inquiries are continuing.
