Detectives have released CCTV vision to assist with the investigation of an attempted robbery of a convenience store at Wavell Heights on June 25.

At 4.18pm a man has attended at the Newman Road business and threatened a female staff member with a knife.

The man demanded cash but the employee refused and the man left the store after a loud audible alarm was activated by the employee.

The staff member, a woman in her 40s, was not physically injured during the incident.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 30s and around 182cm tall with thick black hair and facial stubble. He was wearing a dark jumper and grey tracksuit pants.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who recognises the man to contact police.
