Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a convenience store in Kirwan this morning.
At 6.35am, a man armed with a knife entered the Forest Avenue business and gestured towards the till.
A 60-year-old male staff member demanded the man leave the store before he fled the scene on foot empty-handed.
No-one was physically injured.
Investigations are continuing.
