A man has been charged with making a false report after reporting the robbery of a Bowling Club in Bondi last week.
The 46-year-old man claimed that about 10.15pm on Tuesday 11 July 2017, two men gained entry to a licensed premises on Warners Avenue, North Bondi, and threatened him with a firearm.
He told police that the men accessed a safe and ATM machine, stealing cash before fleeing.
Officers from Eastern Suburbs Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.
Following extensive inquiries, about 12pm on Thursday 13 July 2017, police arrested the 46-year-old man at the bowling club.
He was taken to Waverley Police Station and charged with false representation resulting in police investigation; and steal property as clerk/servant.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Waverley Local Court on Tuesday 15 August 2017.
