Police are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store in Lutwyche early this morning.
At 4am, a woman entered the Lutwyche Road shop and attempted to pay for some items with a debit card, however was unsuccessful.
She has then used a syringe to threaten a staff member.
The woman left the store on foot with a sum of cash and cigarettes.
No-one was physically injured.
The woman is described as being Caucasian in appearance with a proportionate build, shoulder-length curly blonde hair which could possibly be a wig, and was wearing a black dress, white leggings, light-coloured lace gloves or socks on her hands, grey sandshoes with purple laces, and a fabric mask or scarf over her face.
Investigations are continuing.
