Investigators have arrested and charged a man following an armed robbery at a convenience store in Fitzroy North yesterday.

The incident at the store on Nicholson Street left a female staff member with injuries.

She remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The 22-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested today in Carlton.

He has been charged with numerous offences including armed robbery, intentionally cause serious injury, threats, burglary and theft.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
