Police are appealing for public assistance after an attempted armed robbery at a Campsie pharmacy yesterday.

About 7.30pm (Monday 14 August 2017), a man armed with a knife entered a pharmacy on Beamish Street and threatened a female staff member, demanding money.

The man was confronted and questioned by two other female staff members, before leaving the store empty-handed.

As part of the inquiries, detectives would like to speak to a man who they believe can assist with their inquiries.

He is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, about 170cm tall, of a large build, and with grey facial stubble.

The man was wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper, and dark grey tracksuit pants.
