Detectives from Knox Crime Investigation Unit have charged a man following an armed robbery in Boronia earlier this month.

The 46-year-old Knoxfield man was arrested by the Special Operations Group near shops on Burwood Highway, Upper Ferntree Gully about 3.30pm today.

He has been charged with armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, threat to inflict serious injury, assault with a weapon, prohibited person possess firearm, possess cannabis, cultivate narcotic plant and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

The man faced an out of sessions hearing this evening and was remanded in custody to appear at Melbourne Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.

The charges follow an alleged armed robbery at a store on Boronia Road, Boronia on 4 August.
