Police are investigating the armed robbery of a service station south of Sydney overnight.

About 10pm (Tuesday 29 August 2017), a man armed with a knife entered the service station on King Street, Warrawong, and confronted the store attendant.

The 23-year-old man locked himself in a store room whilst the armed men stolen a number of items before fleeing.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Police would now like to speak to a man described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 165cm – 170cm tall, and of a medium build. He was wearing grey coloured clothing.
