Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted armed robbery at a Bundoora milk bar last Friday 1 September.

Investigators have been told two men armed with a handgun and carrying a pink shopping bag walked from Grimshaw Street through a laneway to the Balaka Place store about 9.30pm.

The offenders threatened staff members before fleeing on foot empty handed after being challenged by the store attendant who was armed with a broom.

The males were last seen running north across Grimshaw Street towards Cameron Parade.

Mill Park Serious Crime Taskforce detectives have released images of two men they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
