Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Hampton East convenience store early this morning.

Investigators have been told two men attended the Bluff Rd store about 1.45 am.

One entered the store, while the other man remained at the entrance.

The man who entered the store approached the counter and brandished a firearm.

The men stole cash and cigarettes before fleeing in an unknown direction.

No one was injured during the incident.

Both men were perceived to be Caucasian in appearance and aged in their late teens or early 20’s.

It is understood the man who entered the store was wearing a green hooded jacket, black tracksuit pants and black and white runners.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

Glen Eira Bayside Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released images and CCTV of two men they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
