A man has been charged over an alleged armed robbery in Coogee yesterday.

Police will allege the 24-year-old man threatened a male employee with a syringe at a service station on Coogee Bay Road just after 5am yesterday (Saturday 23 September 2017).

The man allegedly stole cash before leaving on foot.

Police attached to Eastern Beaches Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

About 6pm yesterday, officers searched a home on Malabar Road, Maroubra, and arrested the man.

The 24-year-old man was taken to Maroubra Police Station where he was charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 24 September 2017).
