Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery in Sydney’s south west overnight.

About 9.45pm yesterday (Sunday 24 September 2017), police have been told a man entered a service station on Canterbury Road, Bankstown.

The man threatened a male employee with a knife and stole cash before fleeing on foot down Canterbury Road.

No one was injured.

Police attached to Bankstown Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Investigators wish to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He has been described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, 165-170cm tall with a medium build and was wearing a blue hooded jumper, brown pants and white joggers.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
