Police have charged a man following the alleged armed robbery of a service station store in Yeronga early this morning.
It will be alleged that just before 5am, a man entered the store on Fairfield Road and produced a bottle with an accelerant fluid in it and poured it over the front counter.
He is then alleged to have obtained a lighter from the front counter and threatened to ignite the fluid while making demands for money from the attendant.
The 26-year-old attendant has complied and the man has then left the store on foot with a sum of money.
A short time later police patrolling in the area have taken a man into custody in relation to the robbery.
A 35-year-old Crestmead man has been charged with one count of armed robbery. He has been remanded in custody to reappear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 13.
The service station attendant was not physically harmed as a result of the incident.
