Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a school in Sydney’s west this afternoon.

About 1.15pm today (Thursday 26 October 2017), police were called to a high school on Hunter Street, Auburn, following reports a man had entered the office with a knife.

Police have been told the man stole cash and fled the scene.

The school was placed in lockdown and no one was injured.

Officers attached to Flemington Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Investigators wish to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He has been described as having a large build and wearing a black hooded jumper, black shorts and had covered his face with a black bandana.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
