Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at a hotel at Bolivar early this morning.

About 3.50am, Tuesday 7 November, two men entered the Port Wakefield Road gaming room and threatened staff with a knife and hammer before stealing cash and a handbag.

A third man was waiting outside in a silver Mazda 3, all three men left in the waiting car.

A security guard challenged the two men, one of them swung at the guard with a hammer. He received a minor graze to his thumb which did not require medical treatment.

The two men who entered the hotel were wearing dark clothing with their faces covered.
