Police have released vision of a man who may be able to assist with the investigation of a robbery of a petrol station at Southport on Monday.

Just before 9pm, a man entered the Ferry Road business and jumped the counter while brandishing a metal bar.

He demanded the two employees open the cash register before leaving the store with a sum of cash.

While leaving the business, the man approached a woman who was inside her car which was parked on Zircon Street.

The man attempted to open the driver’s side door however the woman managed to drive away before he could enter the vehicle.

She returned a short time later returned and spoke with police at the scene.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
