An investigation has commenced following an armed robbery at a licensed club in Casino last night.

About 9.10pm, (Sunday 11 November, 2017), two employees of the West Street club were attempting to leave after closing, when they were confronted by five men armed with a machete and iron bars.

The two employees were threatened and forced back into the club when one of them was struck to the shoulder with the machete. The two men were forced to the ground where they were kicked several times.

The armed men made a number of demands when they noticed a security guard outside.

The five men fled the club and police were contacted.

A crime scene was established and a canvass of the area was conducted.

The injured man was treated for a minor injury.

No cash was stolen; however, the injured man had some personal items taken.

Investigations are continuing.
