Police are appealing for witnesses following the armed robbery of a convenience store in Beaconsfield this afternoon.

Preliminary investigations indicate at around 5:45pm a man entered the business on Beaconsfield Road, armed with a screwdriver.

The man demanded money from a female staff member, before fleeing the scene on foot with a sum of cash.

No one was physically injured during the robbery.

The man is described as Caucasian, aged in his mid-20s, approximately 170cm tall with a slim build.

He was last seen wearing a plain blue t-shirt with dark shorts, a blue covering over his face, no shoes and was carrying a blue cooler bag.

Investigations are continuing.
