A man has been charged after a service station was robbed in Woodridge last night.

Around 7.20pm, a man entered a service station on Compton Road and approached the counter.

It will be alleged that the man then produced a knife and made demands for money and then fled the scene with a sum of cash.

A man was taken into custody a short time later by police.

A 22-year-old Woodridge man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, possession of a knife and possession of utensils.

He is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
