Police are investigating an armed robbery in Sydney’s inner-west.

About 8.15pm yesterday (Wednesday 10 January 2018), a man entered a betting agency on Ramsey Street, Haberfield, and threatened staff with an unknown object that he was holding under his shirt.

The 64-year-old female staff member handed the man an amount of cash before he left the store and drove from the scene in a dark coloured sedan.

There was one patron in the store at the time who was also uninjured.

Police from Burwood Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

The offender has been described as Mediterranean/Middle-Eastern appearance, aged in his 30s, average height, stocky build, short black spikey hair, olive skin, and he was wearing a white jumper with red patterns on each sleeve.

He also had a yellow high-visibility shirt under his jumper and black shorts.

Inquiries into the incident continue.
