Police are investigating after a taxi driver was robbed by two men armed with a gun at Woodridge early this morning.

Preliminary information suggests around 12.30am the 33-year-old male driver travelled in a taxi to a service station on Wembley Road at Logan Central to collect a fare.

Two men entered the vehicle and requested they be taken to Slacks Creek.

The driver continued along through Woodridge before pulling over along Ewing Road to ask for further payment of the fare.

The men refused and exited the vehicle before one of them produced a firearm and pointed it at the driver.

The man took a sum of cash from the driver’s pocket and the pair then fled the scene.

No one was physically injured as a result of the incident.

One of the men is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his late 30s to early 40s with a tanned complexion, short brown balding hair and was wearing an orange and red jersey and black board shorts.

The second man is described as Aboriginal Torres Straight Islander in appearance, aged in his 40s with a slim build, around 165cm tall with light brown greying hair tied in a ponytail, a grey goatee, wearing a blue hooded jumper and carrying a black and red backpack.
