Police have charged a 25-year-old man following investigations into the alleged armed robbery of a man refuelling his vehicle at Regents Park on Thursday night.

It will be alleged just before 11pm a 25-year-old man was refuelling at a service station on the Mount Lindesay Highway when a man produced a knife and stole his grey 2006 Toyota Hilux dual cab utility.

It will further be alleged the vehicle was linked to several stealing and dangerous driving offences on Brisbane’s south over the past two days.

Just before 10pm last night, a steel rod was allegedly thrown from the stolen utility at another vehicle on Lewis Lane at Warner, causing it to lodge in the front grill of the car. The driver of the second vehicle was not injured.

Police located the vehicle on Clear Mountain Road at Clear Mountain where dog squad officers arrested three men nearby.

A 25-year-old Springfield Lakes man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and unlicensed driving; and two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stealing.

Two Regents Park men, aged 20 and 27, were also charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

All three men are due to appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court tomorrow.
