Police are investigating following an armed robbery on a taxi driver in Bentleigh East overnight.
The robbery took place on Centre Road when the taxi driver was pulled up on the side of the road just after 3am.
The victim, a 63-year-old Bentleigh East man, told investigators that he was sitting in his car when a man approached the car and spoke to him through the driver’s window.
The man was armed with a knife and demanded that the driver hand over his taking.
The victim handed over an amount of cash and the man ran off along Centre Road.
The man is described as being approximately 175cm tall and wearing dark clothing.
