A second teenager has been charged following the alleged attempted armed robbery of a man in Parramatta.

About 9pm on Sunday 1 April 2018, a 55-year-old man was walking along Robertson Street when he was approached by two males, allegedly armed with scissors.

Police will allege the youths pushed the man to the ground and attempted to take his bag but ran when a nearby resident came to his assistance.

Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command commenced an investigation.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged and remains before the courts.

Just before 2.30pm yesterday (Thursday 5 April 2018), police executed a search warrant at a property in South Parade, Auburn.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested and taken to Auburn Police Station where he was charged with assault with intent to rob in company and two counts of common assault.

He was refused bail and is due to appear before a children’s court today (Friday 6 April 2018).
