Police are appealing for community assistance to help identify a man who may be able to assist with investigations into an armed robbery at Cobar last month.

About 4am on Saturday 3 March 2018, two men, armed with a knife and stick, entered a service station on Marshall Street, Cobar, and approached a 32-year-old female attendant, demanding cash.

Another man remained outside and filled up a container with fuel.

The trio fled on foot with the stolen fuel and cash. No one was injured during the incident.

Police have information that the men hitch hiked from the Kidman Highway towards Hillston.

Officers from Central North Police District commenced an investigation and have released CCTV images of a man that may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man depicted in the images is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, of slim build, aged in his 20s with black hair.

Anyone that recognises the man pictured, or has information that may assist investigators is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
